Murphy Built (MB) Construction was established in 1997 as a General Contracting company with a B-2 classification, $7,000,000 bid limit.
The Murphy family has been building under their licenses since 1963 in Reno and surrounding areas. Murphy Built is a Nevada Corporation owned and operated by Darin C. Murphy. He has been in the construction industry his entire life but has devoted his career to building since he graduated from Brigham Young University in 1990. Darin obtained his California license in 2012 and has enjoyed building in Lake Tahoe and Truckee, California, as well as Reno.
As the Principal of Murphy Built, Darin has extensive experience running a variety of residential and light commercial projects, including subdivisions, custom homes, multi-family, infill, and renovation projects.
Darin is committed to finding solutions to make projects buildable for both the client and the architect. He is dedicated to keeping his projects on time and on budget.
Darin received his Bachelor of Science in Finance from Brigham Young University in 1990. He has served on many boards in the community, including the Builders Association of Northern Nevada, Somerset Architectural Committee, Reno National Little League Board, and Boy Scouts of America Nevada Council Commissioner. When he is not building, Darin enjoys boating, snowboarding, and spending time outdoors with his family.
At Murphy Built, we believe that a great finished product starts with great relationships with our clients. Design is a collaborative process, and the clients’ knowledge of their own needs is as important as the expertise of both the architect and builder.
The most efficient and effective projects balance input from the client, builder, and architect early on in the design process.
Our in-house engineering firm provides added structural expertise and can provide significant savings and economical solutions to complex designs.
With a proposed budget and MurphyBuilt on board from initial design, building costs can be assessed better and revisions kept to a minimum, making sure projects stay on budget and designs become a reality.
